My Favortie Film
My ultimate favorite film is Rebecca by Alfred Hitchcock made in 1940. This story is about a Maxim de Winter who is still troubled by his first wives death, Rebecca, but falls in love with a young and timid lady. The second Mrs. de Winters soon finds out that when Rebecca left she left a strange hold on every body especially the house keeper Ms. Denvers who begins to dive her to madness and possibly suicide. This story is filled with mystery, romance, and horror. Many things where left untold witch I think made the movie even better. Such as the new Mrs. de Winters name before she got married was never mention. And how they never show what Rebecca looked like, but throughout the film they brag and boast about her beauty. They said she was the most beautiful women anyone had ever see. I love the the fact that everything was a surprise. The characters are full of unique personalities. Everyone has a mysterious side to them witch really made me interested. Like how Ms. Danvers would go through the dead wives things in her old room and how Mr. Danvers, a nice man, would sometimes go crazy and the thought of Rebecca. The Gothic style was very exclusive along how it was shot in black and white. It gave the movie a more dramatic, thrilling effect. The film displayed Hitchcock's unparalleled talent for ominous atmosphere exquisitely. Alfred Hitchcock made the estate, Manderley, in which they where living in, a character itself. The detail that was put into this movie was phenomenal. I truly think that the thought that was put into everything and every character is a masterpiece and genius. I could most defiantly watch this film millions of times and never get bored and probably discover something new about it each time.
