#5 Serendipity (5/10)
To me this movie was just another fairy tale romance complete with young, attractive, lovers whose respective paths to emotional consummation rest in the palm of fate. Around Christmas time, Jon and Sara (John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale) meet while trying to buy the same pair of cashmere gloves. He asks her to go out with him for the day but she refuses. Somehow she finds her way back to him and finally agrees. After a wonderful night out on the town, Sara gives Jon her phone number, but it blows away in the breeze. By this happening Sara is convinced that they are not meant to be together and everything is controlled by fate. She sets up a little test (one of many to follow) to finalize what fate has to offer. She says if they press the same button in separate elevators, they are meant to be together now and if not they must move on. They do, but Jon is delayed and misses the chance. Years pass, and both are ready to walk down the aisle. That is, unless, fate decides to rear its head. For me It lacks some of the elements of great romantic comedy but has a twists that knocks it a slight notch above some of the rest in the genre. With its smart script and charming performances, it’s hard not to enjoy it for what it is. I enjoyed watching frormer Saturday Night Live cast member in her role as Sara's good friend. She was funny and made me laugh with her appealing remarks. At time though i did get a little bored with the whole "fate" genre, not using that term loosely because that was the whole film. I wish there was more to the movie plot wise. But in the end i enjoyed parts of it and would watch it again if i had to. Romantic comedy lovers will probably swoon over Serendipity. From my perspective, it's a lukewarm feature, but there are things to enjoy about it, and I have to admit leaving the film with a little smile on my face.
#10 The Bourne Identity (8/10)
This movie begins when fishermen spot a man lifeless in the ocean. They rescue him and pull him into the boat. The crew doctor finds two bullets and what seems to me a laser pointer in his body. Throughout the story this man can remember almost everything except who he is. He knows that people are after him and want to kill him. I really like this movie because of the action and intensity. The Bourne Identity pops and crackles with elaborate suspense and thrills, like brilliant shot gun battles, martial arts sequences, and a awesome extravagant car chase. The film revolves around the mystery of his past. The whole time I kept wondering what would be next. I liked the fact that this movie was an action movie, but at the same i didn't like it because it was an action movie. What i mean by that is the whole time the film was filled with action witch I'm liked but then again the whole time it was filled action. It got boring for a while but kept me interested. I was a bit confused in the beginning and somewhat in the middle, but i think that was the point of the movie. The girl character in the movie to me was pointless. To me she was just in there so there would be at least one female part. She only served as someone to talk to and cause unnecessary problems. Overall this movie was very good and i enjoyed it except for some minor things.

#8 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (8/10)
What makes this film such a curious case is that when Benjamin Button was born in New Orleans just after World War 1, he is already in his eighties, and proceeds to live his life aging in reverse. This extensive , three hour film follows the character's unusual life into the 21st century as he experiences joy and sadness, romance, and the meaning of timelessness. For me the story was very interesting in the fact that most movies are the growth of people through their life, and so was this film except it was backwards. It was interesting to see someone go from the body of a baby with the conditions of an old man to a young ,healthy middle aged man back to baby again. Although this film showed some happiness and humor , like the old man and his lightning occurrences, most of it was sad and depressing. Fincher's movie seems to exist exclusively to remind us of our own humanity. It's a sequence of constant, controlling, downers witch made me think of the cold grave that everybody is heading to. Spending three hours in a darkened room reflecting on your own eventual termination isn't exactly my idea of a good time, or movie. The beginning through the end was very depressing. There was heartbreaks, deaths, loneliness and many other gloomy details. Almost every one that Benjamin loved ended up dieing or vanishing in his life. Over all the repeating sadness and length, the story line was good and pleasing.
